Background to Cavan County Childcare Committee
Thirty three City and County Childcare Committees (CCC's) were established in 2001, to encourage the development of childcare locally.
City and County Childcare Committees are the first point of contact for the public in applying for grant assistance under the National Childcare Investment Programme. They offer a wide variety of services locally including; advice on setting up a childcare business; childcare information sessions; training courses for those considering a career in childcare; and advice and support on applying for a National Childcare Investment Programme grant. City and County Childcare Committees also offer services to parents, such as providing information on local childcare facilities and information on parent networks.
What does Cavan County Childcare Committee do?
Cavan County Childcare Committee offers a wide variety of services locally including;
- First point of Contact in applying for the;
- Free pre school year in Early Childhood Care and Education
- Community Childcare Subvention Scheme
- Parent and Toddler grant
- Childminding Grant
- Advice on setting up a childcare/childminding business
- Childcare information sessions;
- Training courses (non accredited) for those considering a career in
- Childcare/childminding or currently working in the sector
County Childcare Committees also offers services to parents, such as;
- Providing information on local childcare facilities
- Information on choosing childcare
- Information and support to parents,
- Support to parent and toddler groups
